| Jeff's childhood dream was to be a cowboy! As a nine year old boy his dream began to come true when his family moved to Sherman, TX where his dad pastored Trinity Baptist Church. Clyde Hale, rancher and banker, was a deacon at Trinity. He took Jeff under his wing and taught him about the working side of cowboy life, such as fence building and hauling cattle to the sale barn. Jeff thought he had it made! The first time Jeff ever drove a vehicle he was pulling a cattle trailer full of calves with the cows following behind. As a junior high boy Jeff began to purchase cattle a pair at a time and soon had a small herd of black cattle all his own. He bought and sold cattle all through school and used them for his FFA projects. Jeff was also a member of the National FFA Chorus. Jeffs first gig singing "Cowboy Music" was for a District FFA Convention in 1979. In 1980 Jeff sold off his cattle to go away to college and for a number of years there after he worked on church staffs. During the '80's he met and married his college sweetheart, Donna. They and their 3 children began a "Cowboy Ministry" in 1992 thus combining Jeffs love of all things cowboy and a calling from God. Jesus said, "But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto myself." John 12:32 When the Gores began Jeff Gore Ministries in 1992, Jeff again had the opportunity to work on ranches. He has done many different things to earn a living for his family, such as, playing "Mr. Fox" in " The Good Old Boys", acting in a Maxwell House Coffee commercial, and singing cowboy music. Jeff has earned many awards through the years for his Cowboy Music but he is never prouder than when ranches invite him out to help during their big works. |
